Conservation Measures during the Baxter Fluid Shortage after Hurricane Helene

In September of 2024, Hurricane Helene damaged a Baxter manufacturing facility in North Carolina—halting production and disrupting national supply chain operations. In response, all hospitals in the New York-Presbyterian (NYP) enterprise set a goal to reduce IVF usage by 50% during the projected shortage period of three to four months.
