Emergency Anesthetic Management of Patients with Fontan Circulation: Systems-Based  Approach and Clinical Pearls

A 36-year-old male with a past medical history of congenital double inlet left ventricle with hypoplastic right ventricle outflow tract, status post-Fontan surgery with arterial pulmonary connection at age 2, with subsequent revision to an external conduit, presents to the emergency department after a few days of abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting.
